A view from the top.

What is Light-Designs?  Yet another experiment from the dark recesses of my mind.  This one just happens to be a bit more social than the others.  The intent of this site is as a repository of personally accumulated data, i.e. projects that I have developed and research that I have sorted through.  Some is original, some is simply rehashed from a new perspective, but hopefully all will be of use to someone out there in this ‘series of tubes.’

The name is Josh by the way, although my friends call me Josh Light.  I’m an electrical engineer (B.S.) that graduated in December 2006 from Penn State University (resume located here).  While at University Park, I became a member of Penn State’s Paranormal Research Society.  You may know them as the cast of A&E’s Paranormal State.  In a few episodes, you may even see a figure clad in a black leather jacket lurking in the shadows.  Guess who.

With that out of the way, you can expect this website to be a culmination of many of my interests.  As an engineer, you can imagine that a great deal of that is inherently geeky.  Electronics, programming, robotics, building ‘stuff’, etc…though do not be surprised to find a few obscure cultural references here and there.  There are a few projects on here already–that will grow with time; you have my assurance on that.  Interspersed betwixt the project postings, I intend to write articles and possibly add a few links of interest (though the intention is to not be a link-farm.)
